The trend in software development is moving towards web applications since they are independent of devices and operating systems and require just browsers to run. The Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP) is an open community, non-profit organisation that provides standards and frameworks to assess and improve security of the software. OWASP lists and identifies top ten security vulnerabilities to assist software developers to make their software secure enough. The purpose of this ongoing and early-stage research is to explore web application vulnerabilities through Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP) standards to identify those programming languages, used for developing web applications, that have the lowest security measures and to identify prevention measures.
